Plain language, because terms nobody reads protect nobody. Last updated 15 August 2026.
HireGamers is operated by the owner of hiregamers.org, referred to below as "we" or "us". By creating an account, reserving a gamertag, posting a role, applying to anything, or simply using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
You must be at least 16 years old to hold an account. If you are under 18, you confirm a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms on your behalf.
HireGamers is a place to publish a profile, show a competitive rank, browse roles, and contact people. That is all it is.
We are not an employer, a recruiter, an agency, or a party to anything you arrange here. If you find work through this site, that arrangement is between you and the other person. We do not screen employers, verify that a posted role exists, guarantee anyone will be paid, or take responsibility for how anyone behaves once a conversation moves off the site. We do not act as an escrow, a mediator, or a reference.
The same applies to Side Quests. A quest is an arrangement between the person running it and the people who join. It is not employment, it is not a contract with us, and we are not responsible for whether it happens, whether it pays, or how it goes.
You are responsible for your account and for everything done through it, including keeping your password to yourself. Tell us at privacy@hiregamers.org if you think someone else is using it.
One person, one account. Creating extra accounts to reserve more gamertags, vote more than once, or get around a limit is a breach of these terms and we may remove all of them.
A reserved gamertag is a name held on this site, first come first served. It is not a trademark, a property right, or a claim on that name anywhere else. Reserving a name here gives you no rights against anyone using it on any other platform, and gives you no rights against us.
We may reclaim, reassign, or release any gamertag at our discretion, including where it impersonates someone, infringes a trademark, is offensive, was taken in bulk, or belongs to an account that appears abandoned. We will usually tell you first, but we are not obliged to.
The lime check means one thing: at the moment we checked, the platform in question confirmed you control that account, and we read a rank from it. It is a record of a check that happened, not a warranty.
Ranks come from third parties such as Blizzard, Chess.com and FACEIT. We do not control those services and cannot guarantee their data is accurate, current, or available. Ranks go stale, accounts get sold or shared, APIs change and break. Do not treat a verified rank as a background check. Anyone hiring should do their own diligence.
Everything not carrying a check is self-reported, which means somebody typed it in. We do not verify self-reported information at all.
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting it you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce and distribute it for the purpose of running and promoting the site. That licence continues for material others have already relied on, such as a job post somebody applied to, even after you delete your account.
You confirm that what you post is yours to post and is accurate. Do not:
We can remove anything, at any time, for any reason or none. Posts go live immediately, which means moderation happens after the fact. Nothing here is a promise that your content will stay up, be seen, or reach anyone.
You can delete your account whenever you like, from your account settings.
We may suspend or delete any account at any time, with or without notice and with or without a reason. We would rather explain ourselves, and usually will, but we are not required to. Sections that by their nature should survive termination do survive it, including the licence above, the disclaimers, the liability limit and the indemnity.
HireGamers is currently free. We may introduce charges for some features in future; if we do, we will make that clear before you are asked to pay anything.
The site is provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be available, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that anything on it is accurate. This is an early product run by one person, and it may break, lose data, or go away entirely.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, income, opportunity, goodwill, or data, arising out of or connected to your use of the site. That includes anything arising from a job you did or did not get, a person you met here, a rank that turned out to be wrong, or content somebody else posted.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for all claims combined is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars.
Some places do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from what you post, how you use the site, your breach of these terms, or any dispute between you and anyone you met through the site.
The site relies on services we do not control, including Vercel, Neon, Resend, Blizzard, Chess.com, FACEIT, Riot Games, and the job boards we import roles from. Their availability and their data are their own, and links or imported listings are not an endorsement. Anything you do on their services is governed by their terms, not ours.
We may change these terms. The date at the top will change with them, and continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new version. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will try to give notice on the site, but the practical answer is to check this page occasionally.
These terms are governed by the laws of the place where the site owner resides and does business, without regard to conflict of law rules, and the courts of that place have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
If any part of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our not enforcing something once does not waive it.
Questions about these terms go to privacy@hiregamers.org. Privacy is covered separately in our privacy policy.
