How is a game rank verified?

The player signs in to the platform that holds the rank, and that platform confirms the account is theirs. Battle.net, FACEIT and Steam use a sign in; Chess.com uses a one time token placed in a field only the account owner can edit. A rank read from a username alone is never treated as verified.

Which games can have a verified rank?

World of Warcraft and StarCraft II through Battle.net, CS2 through FACEIT, Dota 2 and Deadlock through Steam, and chess through Chess.com. Other games can be listed but stay clearly labelled as self-reported.
